Detailed Information:
Your printer might have the option to print in various quality modes – all the way from super quality to draft mode. There are a number of common methods used:
- Reducing printout dpi (dots-per-inch) – changing the dpi from 600 to 300. This method will result in about 5% savings but will have the side effect of a light printout.
- Reducing toner density levels – the printer will change the print density form 3 to 1. This method will generate 8% to 15% savings.
- Half toning – changing the color from black to gray. This method generates marginal savings for non-color documents and will have the side effect of a low-quality printout.
Unlike printers, PretonSaver Home uses advanced algorithms to identify and delete wasteful pixels – a method defined as pixel depletion. The removal of the pixels does not affect the print quality.
In addition, PretonSaver's smart optimization automatically identifies document elements, like text, graphics and images, and applies different savings levels to each, thereby maintaining the quality of the printouts.
